Special Events
As well as the things we do every week, we put on lots of special events, partly for our own people, but largely for those who don’t yet know Jesus’ love. We use our church building for men’s breakfasts, women’s breakfasts and lunches, shows and concerts. We also get out of the building, taking the good news of Jesus to the streets, parks, and gathering points in town. So sometimes on a Saturday you’ll find us in George Yard with puppets, face painting, balloons, and a friendly word for all who stop and chat. Sometimes we get permission to take over a park or open space for all sorts of fun activities, centring round the message of Jesus. At other times you might find a small group from our church clearing someone’s garden or painting their living room, teaching life skills to disadvantaged groups, or joining with other Christians in town as Street Pastors.
...and we also sometimes get out of town. Our young people go to national youth events, and all ages join together for weekends away.
