Leaders
Alison Atkinson (Senior Minister)
Before she retrained and entered the Elim ministry, Alison was a doctor. She practised anaesthetics for a number of years and has already heard the joke about now putting people to sleep with her sermons. She is married to William, who is Vice Principal (Community) at the London School of Theology; they have two grown-up sons. As you will quickly realise if you listen to her sermons, she is Scottish and has not mastered the Essex accent.
Tony Britten (Elder)
Tony had no Christian upbringing and until the age of 17 was an Atheist when through Christian friends he met with Jesus and has been following Him ever since. He has been part of the Leadership at Braintree Elim since 2001.
Having been a police officer in Essex Police for 30yrs, Tony is now retired and is on the board of the International Christian Police Fellowship, which promotes and supports Christian Police around the world.
He is passionate about every follower of Jesus connecting more to God, connecting more with other believers and connecting with others in the community.
Lewis Sharp (Elder)
Lewis has been part of Braintree Elim Church as a youth leader and worship leader for eight years. In 2003 he moved down to Braintree from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire where he was an active member of Huddersfield Elim Church. He spent the first year working in youth groups and schools working as part of the Pais Project (based in Manchester) with Christian Youth Outreach and has a passion for people connecting with God. He is involved in organising a number of Christian events in Essex, and is also a board director for Braintree Youth Project Charity.
Having started his own website and graphic design business in 2007, Lewis is often found thinking about creative and innovative ways of communicating. He is engaged to Beccy and is passionate about seeing people realise the plans that God has for them.
